Big Ten Men's Basketball Tourney Opened Play

In the opener, No. 13 Northwestern edged No. 12 Nebraska, 71-69.

The second contest went to No. 11 Penn State over No. 14 Minnesota, 60-51.

Today's games feature No. 8 Michigan against No. 9 Indiana at 10:30 a.m., No. 5 Iowa against Northwestern at noon, No. 7 Michigan against No. 10 Maryland at 5:30 p.m. and No. 6 Ohio State against Penn State at 7 p.m.

No. 1 Illinois will open play Friday at 10:30 a.m. against the winner of the Michigan vs. Indiana contest.

The championship game is scheduled for Sunday at 2:30 p.m. on CBS.
