St. Anthony will head home for their own sectional and will play Tuscola Tuesday at 7pm. Tuscola defeated Arcola 56-33 to win the Arcola 1A Regional.

The Bulldogs struggled early against a quick and determined Carlyle squad that held a 10-8 lead after one quarter. The game was tied 19-19 at halftime, but Carlyle outpointed St. Anthony 14-10 to lead 33-29 heading into the fourth quarter.

That's when St. Anthony hit the gas behind a monster effort by Craig Croy. Croy, who had four points at halftime, finished with 23 points, 13 in the fourth quarter.

St. Anthony scored 29 points in the fourth quarter, as many as they had scored in the first three quarters combined. The Bulldogs shot 24 foul shots in the final quarter and made 20 of them. They finished 24 of 30 from the charity stripe for the game. St. Anthony made 16 of 34 shots from the field, 47%, including 2 of 7 threes. The Bulldogs grabbed 21 rebounds and committed just nine turnovers.

Carlyle made 13 of 37 shots from the field, 35%, including 4 of 10 threes. The Indians, though, made just three of 12 shots in the fourth quarter. Carlyle also had a good night at the line, making 14 of 19 attempts. Carlyle pulled down 22 rebounds and turned the ball over 11 times.

In addition to Croy, scoring for St. Anthony: Brock Fearday 9, Max Koenig 8, Griffin Sehy and Adam Rudibaugh 6 each, Colton Fearday 4, and Kyle Stewart 2.

Hayden Huffman with 13 points and Carsen Beer with 10 points led Carlyle, who finished 17-16 on the season.
