Bulldogs To Play For 1A Patoka Regional Crown

PATOKA -- Effingham St. Anthony will be playing for the Class 1A Patoka Regional championship after downing Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran, 60-41 Wednesday evening.

The Bulldogs put on a 14-8 opening quarter run as Kyle Stewart and Craig Croy scored six points each.

Christ Our Rock Lutheran pulled within 21-18 at halftime. but the Bulldogs went on a 17-6 third period surge to put the game away. Stewart contributed seven points in the quarter.

St. Anthony had a 22-17 final quarter. Croy nailed two three-pointers and finished with eight in the period.

Croy tallied 20 to lead the Bulldogs. He connected on six field goals, two of those three-pointers and was six of seven at the line. Stewart added 17 on seven field goals, one a three-pointer, and was two of four at the line.

In the second game, Carlyle edged Nokomis, 53-50.

St. Anthony and Carlyle will square off at 7 p.m. Friday for the regional championship.
