The Mustangs easily downed Charleston, 43-17. Charleston edged out to a 6-4 opening quarter lead but the Mustangs came roaring back with a 15-3 second period and never looked back.
Effingham had a 24-8 second half run. Leading in scoring was Cannon Bockhorn with 13 points while eight other players scored in the contest. The Mustangs are now 21-3 on the season.
In the second game, Mount Zion won over Rochester, 40-29.
The championship has been rescheduled from Thursday to Saturday, Feb. 5 at 11 a.m.

Class 8-1A Sigel St. Michael Regional
Effingham Sacred Heart and Newton St. Thomas advanced to the championship game of the Sigel St. Michael Regional with victories Monday evening.
Newton St. Thomas opened the evening with a 48-18 win over Windsor.
In the second game,Sacred Heart downed Sigel St. Michael, 53-33.
Sacred Heart and Newton St. Thomas will meet at a date to be determined as the seventh-grade sectional game was pushed to tonight at St. Michael.
Class 8-2A St. Elmo Regional
Effingham St. Anthony and North Clay (Louisville) advanced to the regional title contest with victories Monday.
St. Anthony bounced St. Elmo/Brownstown, 56-13 in the opener.
In the second game, North Clay edged Dieterich, 51-50.
The two teams are scheduled to meet Thursday at 6:30 p.m., weather permitting.
Class 8-2A Casey-Westfield Regional
Casey-Westfield advanced to the championship game with a 51-11 win over Arcola in the opener Monday.
In the second contest, Paris Crestwood downed Hutsonville, 36-27.
Casey-Westfield and Paris Crestwood are scheduled for meet for the championship Thursday, weather permitting.
Class 8-3A Lawrenceville Parkview
Teutopolis edged Marshall in Monday evening action at the Lawrencevile Parkview Regional, 34-32.
In the second contest, Cumberland also took a two-point victory over Lawrenceville Parkview, 40-38.
T-town and Cumberland will square off today for the regional championship at 6 p.m.
