C'land Captures LPC Tourney Consy Title; Newton Second In LIC Tourney

The Pirates defeated Tri-County in Friday action, 51-37 to advance to the consy game.
The two teams played to a 12-12 opening quarter tie before the Pirates took off with an 18-5 second period and never looked back.
Elijah McElravy tallied 12 points for the winners while Gavin Hendrix chipped in with 10.
In the consolation championship contest, Cumberland defeated Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, 56-45.
The Pirates led 25-18 at halftime and 40-31 going into the final period.
Jaxon Boldt led the way for the Pirates with 13 points while M. McElravy added 12.
Arcola won the championship of the tournament by defeating Decatur LSA, 58-54.

Little Illini Conference Tournament
In the Little Illini Conference Tournament at Casey-Westfield High School Saturday, Newton fell in the championship game to Olney, 57-39 to finish second.
Third place went to Robinson over Marshall, 63-61.
Casey-Westfield claimed the consolation championship by defeating Mount Carmel, 63-55.
