Lady Shoes Post Win Over Lady Hearts Friday at EHS

The Teutopolis Lady Shoes downed the Effingham Lady Hearts 47-37 in non-conference action at EHS Friday night. The game was heard on KJ Country 102.3 and www.kjcountry.com. 

Effingham and T-Town played nip-and-tuck in the early going, with Effingham on top 10-9 after one quarter and the game was tied 19-19 at halftime. Teutopolis led 33-28 after three quarters and outscored Effingham 14-9 in the fourth quarter to post the 10-point win.

Teutopolis shot 45% from the field, making 17 of 38 shots including 6 of 11 threes. Effingham shot 39%, making 12 of 31 shots including 6 of 17 threes. Each team made 7 of 10 free throws. Teutopolis outrebounded Effingham 20-11. Effingham committed 14 turnovers to 11 for Teutopolis.

Kaitlyn Schumacher led Teutopolis with 17 points and Isabella Hardiek scored 10 points. Also for the Lady Shoes: Kaylee Niebrugge 7, Grace Tegeler 6, Emily Konkel 4, and Zoe Cremens 3.

Sawyer Althoff paced Effingham with 11 points. Meredith Schaefer scored 7, Madison Mapes 5, Coralin Ohnesorge and Marissa Allie 4 each, and Bria Beals and Ella Niebrugge 3 each.

Teutopolis improved to 16-6 on the season, while Effingham dropped to 16-9.
