Kobe Bryant, Daughter Statue

A statue of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna was placed at the site of their helicopter crash Wednesday on the second anniversary of the accident that killed them and seven others.

The statue by sculptor Dan Medina shows Kobe in his L.A. Lakers uniform with his arm around 13-year-old Gianna, who’s also wearing a uniform while holding a basketball. They are looking at each other and smiling. The statue also has the names of Kobe, Gianna and the seven other victims.

Medina told NBC Los Angeles the bronze statue will remain at the Calabasas, California, hilltop site temporarily.
