Effingham St. Anthony and South Central advanced to the championship game of the Class 2A Seventh-Grade St. Anthony Boys Basketball Regional Monday.

South Central defeated St. Elmo/Brownstown, 42-11.

South Central held a 28-4 halftime lead. Sebastian Kruger finished in double figures with 14 while Luke Shumate tallied 10.

SEB was led by Voelker and Wollin with three each.

Effingham St. Anthony edged Dieterich, 29-28. The Bullpups held an 8-7 opening quarter lead but Dieterich moved ahead 17-15 at hafltime. St. Anthony came back with an 8-4 third period and then had to hold off Dieterich for the last second victory.

Waldhoff tallied 17 for the Bullpups.

Dieterich was led by Meinhart with 14.

St. Anthony and South Central will meet for the regional championship Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Class 2A Assumption Central A&M Regional

Stewardson-Strasburg and Assumption Central A&M picked up victories to reach the regional championship game Monday.

Assumption Central A&M opened the evening with a 26-19 victory over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.

In the second contest, Stewardson-Strasburg defeated Kincaid South Fork, 37-33.

Stew-Stras held a 14-8 opening quarter lead and led 25-14 at halftime. South Fork had a 19-12 second half but couldn't make up that first half run by Stew-Stras.

Bible led the way for the winners with 13 points. Stew-Stras improved to 17-5.

Stew-Stras and Kincaid South Fork meet for the championship Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Class 2A Assumption Central A&M Regional

Class 2A Casey-Westfield Regional

Casey-Westfield handed Neoga a 42-27 loss in the first game of Monday evening at its own Class 2A regional.

In the second contest, Paris Crestwood edged Arcola, 29-28.

Casey-Westfield faces Paris Crestwood at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday for the regional title.

 

Class 3A Teutopolis Regional

Teutopolis and Jasper County will meet for the championship of the Class 3A Teutopolis Regional after winning Monday.

T-town bounced Robinson, 47-15. The Wooden Shoes held a 25-5 halftime lead and never looked back.

Teagan Pals scored 14 while Kendal Mette added 13 in the win.

In the second contest, Jasper County edged Cumberland, 30-26.

The score was knotted at 10-10 at halftime. Jasper County moved ahead by two going into the final quarter than had an 11-9 run for the victory.

Mulvey tallied 15 for the winners.

Leading Cumberland was Roedl with 11.

T-town and Jasper County will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday for the championship.
