SEB Downs Patoka, CHBC Falls To OPH

PATOKA -- St. Elmo/Brownstown picked up a non-conference boys basketball victory over Patoka by a 56-38 count Friday.

The Eagles held a 24-15 halftime lead then had an 11-8 third period and finished out strong with a 21-15 final period run.

SEB hit 48 percent from the field and was 86 percent at the line with 13 of 15.

Caleb Campbell led the way with 23 points. He connected on seven of 11 from the field and was three of six from three-point range. He hit all six free throws he attempted. Campbell also led the team in rebounds with seven.

Jarrett Pasley had three assists and one block for the winners while Caleb Schaub led in steals with four while Adam Atwood had three.

At Oblong

Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville played host to Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and sent the Bobcats home with a 59-46 non-conference loss Saturday.

OPH ran off to a 21-9 opening quarter lead but CHBC came back with an 8-6 second period. Both teams played to a 13-13 third quarter before OPH finished out with a 19-16 final quarter. OPH connected on 10 three-pointers.

Higginbotham led the way for OPH with 36 points while Johnson added 10. Higginbothem hit six three-pointers.

CHBC was led by Jadon Robertson with 17 and Wes Radloff with 11.
