Bulldogs Beat Shoes For St. A F/S Tourney Title

Effingham St. Anthony handed Teutopolis a 61-52 loss to claim its own freshman/sophomore boys basketball tourney title Thursday.

T-town edged out to an 11-8 opening quarter lead but St. Anthony came back with a second quarter run to lead 23-22 at halftime.

The Bulldogs continued with a 21-18 third period and hit 11 of 14 free throws in the final period for the win.

Ryan Schmidt led the way for the Bulldogs with 25 points on nine field goals, one a three-pointer, and six of seven at the line while Will Fearday scored 23 points on seven field goals, three of those from three-point range, and five of six at the line.

T-town had three players in double figures. Thompson and Kremer led the way with 15 points each while Bushur added 10.
