TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis High School improved to 13-4 on the season with a 54-38 victory over St. Joseph-Ogden Tuesday evening.

The Wooden Shoes held only a 20-18 halftime lead then had a 16-8 third period surge and never looked back.

Caleb Siemer led the way in scoring with 20 points on six field goals and eight of eight at the line. Brendan Niebrugge tallied 18 on seven field goals that included three trifectas and one of two at the line.

Max Niebrugge led the Shoes in assists with seven. Siemer had six rebounds and James Niebrugge five.

At Altamont

Although Altamont held only a four-point lead at halftime, the Indians got on a second half roll to down Moweaqua Central A&M, 60-38 Tuesday evening.

Altamont edged out to a 12-7 opening quarter lead but Central A&M had a 12-11 second period to pull wtihin four.

The Indians then went on a 21-9 third period run as Jared Hammer hit two three-pointers while Noah Klimpel had a three-pointer and two free throws. Four other players put in baskets.

The Indians continued their domination with a 16-10 final period as Bryce Suckow and Klimpel put in a three-pointer each and Eric Kollman hit a basket and was four of four at the line.

Only one player hit double figures for the Indians. Klimpel tallied 10 on three field goals, two of those three-pointers, and two of two at the line. Kollman finished with nine and Will Schultz and Mason Robinson eight each. The Indians are now 14-4 on the season and return to action Friday at North Clay (Louisvllle).

Altamont also claimed the junior varsity game, 80-25. Wyatt Phillips led with 25 points while Dillan Elam added 11.

At Farina

South Central played host to Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg in National Trail Conference play and picked up a 51-34 victory Tuesday.

The Hatchets edged out to a 12-5 opening quarter lead as Samuel Vonderheide scored seven points and Carter Chaney five. But the Cougars reversed that with an 18-8 second period to lead 23-20 at halftime. Ethan Watwood connected on two three-pointers while Keenin Willshire hit a three-pointer and was two of two at the line.

South Central continued on in the third period with the momentum on a 10-2 run. Aidan Dodson took over with five points. In the final period, the Cougars had an 18-12 quarter, hitting 10 of 12 from the free throw line.

Willshire finished with 16 to lead the way on three field goals, two of those three-pointers, and eight of eight at the line. Dodson tallied 15 on five field goals, one from three-point range, and four of four at the line. The Cougars are now 3-0 in the conference, 16-4 overall.

WSS was led by Vonderheide with 20 on eight field goals, one a three-pointer, and three of four at the line. The Hatchets drop to 2-2 in the conference, 16-3 overall.

South Central also nabbed the junior varsity game, 37-30 and improved to 9-2. The Cougars claimed the freshman contest and are now 7-0.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City put together a 78 point contest to hand Martinsville a 78-51 loss in non-conference play Tuesday evening.

The Bluestreaks edgeod ut to a 13-11 opening quarter lead but CHBC came back with a 16-15 run to trail only 28-27 at halftime. The Bobcats then went on a 26-10 third period tear as Kade Persinger broke loose with 12 points. The Bobcats finished out strong with a 25-13 final quarter. Jadon Robertson scored 12 in the quarter while Persinger added on nine.

Persinger finished with 29 on 10 field goals that included three trifectas and was six of nine at the line. Robertson hit nine field goals, one a three-pointer, and was four of four at the line for 23 points.

At Lawrenceville

North Clay (Louisville) traveled to Lawrenceville and fell to the homestanders, 52-49 in a non-conference matchup Tuesday.

The Cardinals held a 19-12 opening quarter lead behind Logan Fleener's seven points and two three-pointers by Alex Boose.

But Lawrenceville came back within 27-23 at halftime then had an 11-2 third period run. North Clay attempted a comeback with a 20-13 final period only to fall short.

North Clay was led by Fleener with 22 points on eight field goals, one a three-pointer, and five of eight at the line.

Lawrenceville also nabbed the junior varsity game, 42-30. Trey Wells led North Clay with 13 points.

LSA played host to Cumberland and handed the Pirates a 63-58 loss in action Tuesday evening.

LSA took a 17-10 opening quarter lead and led 36-24 at halftime and 48-38 going into the final quarter.

LSA had four players score in double figures. Campbell led with 15 while Massey had 11 and Harshman and Hill had 10 each.

Cumberland was led by Elijah McElravy and Jaxon Boldt with 15 each and Gavin Hendrix with 14.
