WOODLAWN -- Altamont High School picked up its second win in two days Saturday by downing Woodlawn, 54-28.

The Indians had only two players hit double digits but nine players scored in the contest. Eric Kollmann led the way with 13 points while Jared Hammer chipped in with 11.

Altamont ran off to a 17-6 opening quarter lead as Hammer connected for seven points. Mason Robinson scored all eight of his points in the second period ad the Indians moved ahead 30-10.

The Indians improved to 13-4 on the season.

In the junior varsity game, Altamont won 49-14. Wyatt Phillips tallied 16 for the winners.

At Farina

South Central played host to Cisne in a non-conference matchup and took a 45-44 victory.

The Cougars edged out to an 8-7 opening quarter lead as Spencer Johannes connected on six of those points. But Cisne came back to lead 17-16 at halftime.

South Central moved ahead 34-32 in the third period as Aidan Dodson took over the scoring, connecting on five baskets that included a three-pointer for 11 points.

Cisne came back witih a 12-11 final quarter run only to fall a point short.

Dodson led the way with 15 points while Keenin Willshire scored 13 and Johannes 12.

Newton stepped out to a 21-7 opening quarter lead and went on for a 61-47 win over Red Hill (Bridgeport) Friday.

The Eagles led 35-16 at halftime.

Mason Schafer led the way in scoring for the Eagles with 16 points while Parker Wolf added 12 and Evan Schafer 11. M. Schafer connected on three trifectas in the contest.

Newton improves to 3-0 in the Little Illini Conference, 12-4 overall.

North Clay (Louisville) claimed a National Trail Conference win over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Friday evening, 67-34.

The Cardinals ran off to a 21-9 opening quarter lead and led 35-15 at halftime.

Alex Boose led he way for the winners with 19 points on nine field goals, one a three-pointer. Collyn Ballard and Bryton Griffy scored 11 each while Brady Ingram scored 10.

CHBC was led by Kade Persinger with 10.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City won the junior varsity game, 45-42. Bain led the winners with 13 while Lorton added 10. North Clay was led by Jesse Weidner with 18.

North Clay claimed the freshman/sophomore game, 50-25. Wells scored 19 while Weidner added 15 for the wiinners. CHBC was led by Radloff with eight.

Cumberland held Blue Ridge scoreless in the opening quarter while taking a 22-0 lead and led 43-5 at halftime. The Pirates went on for a 65-20 victory Friday.

Elijah McElravy led the Pirates with 16 points on seven field goals and two of three at the line. Also in double figures was Maddox McElravy with 12. Nine other players scored in the contest.

At Warrensburg

Warrensburg-Latham hosted Teutopolis and picked up a 66-63 victory in overtime Saturday.

The Wooden Shoes ripped out to a 23-12 opening quarter lead and led 37-27 at halftime. Warrensburg-Latham came back with a 14-5 third quarter run to pull within 42-41 going into the final quarter then had a 15-14 run to tie the score, sending the game into overtime.

In the overtime period, Warrensburg-Latham had a 10-7 run to pull out the victory. Four players finished in double figures for the winners.

T-town was led by Brendan Niebrugge with 30 points on 10 field goals that included seven three-pointers and three of five at the line. Max Niebrugge added nine points. The Wooden Shoes drop to 12-4 on the season.

St. Elmo/Brownstown fell in a Friday evening contest to Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, 61-43 in National Trail Conference play.

WSS edged out to an 18-12 opening quarter lead and led 30-19 at halftime. The Hatchets hit 46 percent from the field and were 81 percent at the line with 18 of 22.

Samuel Vonderheide led WSS with 22 points, had nine rebounds and three steals while Carter Chaney had 17 points and six rebounds. Jordan Wittenberg and Talon Bridges led in assists with three each. Landon MIler had three steals.

SEB was led by Jarrett Pasley with 11 and Brady Maxey with 10. Pasley had two steals. Caleb Campbell led in rebounds with eight, assists with two, steals with two and had one blocked shot. Cade Schaub had six boards.

At Louisville

North Clay hosted a Shootout Saturday. Five games were on tap.

Dieterich won the opener over Patoka-Odin, 42-34. Patoka-Odin edged out to a 7-5 opening quarter lead but the Movin' Maroons came back to lead 23-19 at halftime and 38-28 going into the final quarter.

The Maroons were led by one player in double figures. Luke Westendorf with 14. Pete Britton was a point off double figures with nine.

In the second contest, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City edged Grayville, 75-67. CHBC stepped out to a 17-9 opening quarter lead but Grayville came back with a 23-17 run to pull within two points at halftime.

CHBC then had a 25-15 third period as Kade Persinger knocked in three three-pointers and hit two of two at the line for 11 points while Jadon Robertson scored four baskets that included a three-pointer and was two of three at the line, for 10 points.

Robertson finished with 27 points for the winners while Persinger added 22 and Wes Radloff chipped in with 10.

Edwards County (Albion) won over Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville 52-33.

North Clay captured the fourth contest, 68-55.

Crab Orchard led 12-11 in the first quarter and 26-24 at halftime. North Clay came roaring back with a 22-13 third period to lead 46-39. Logan Fleener connected on three baskets and two free throws for eight points while Bryton Griffy led the way with five baskets and a free throw for 11.

The Cardinals continued on with a 22-16 final period. Griffy finished with 30 points on 12 field goals and six of eight at the line. Fleener chipped in with 15.

In the final game of the day, Lawrenceville was a 64-50 winner over St. Elmo/Brownstown.

Lawrenceville held a 29-25 halftime lead then had a 35-26 second half run.

SEB was led in scoring by three players. Adam Atwood and Brady Maxey had 12 points each while Caleb Campbell added 11 points and eight rebounds. Maxey led in assists with four. Wyatt Stine had four steals.
