EHS, St. A, T-town, Newton Win at Christmas Tourney

In games at Effingham, the Hearts edged Dixon, 50-47 despite Dixon taking a 17-11 opening quarter lead.
The Hearts came back with a 12-8 second period on three baskets by Garrett Wolfe and a basket and two free throws by Brayden Pals.That pulled EHS within 25-23.
Then in the third period, the Hearts had an 11-10 edge and stood within a point going into the final period. Ethan Ritz was the catalyst in the quarter with four baskets for eight points and Pals nailed a three-pointer.
In the final period, EHS went to work. Wolfe, who didn't score in the third period, tallied seven points while five other players contributed for a 16-12 run to pull out the victory.
Wolfe finished with 16 points while Pals added 13 and Ritz 10.
In other games at Effingham, Knoxville defeated Mattoon 48-39, Oak Lawn pounded Horizon SW 80-17 and Chicago Brooks won over Belvidere 79-40.
In games at Teutopolis, Effingham St. Anthony edged Champaign Centennial 40-38.
The Bulldogs took the early lead as Craig Croy scored six points, Max Koenig contributed a three-pointer and Kyle Stewart scored four in a 13-7 quarter.
Champaign Centennial came back with a 13-6 third period run to move ahead 20-19 at halftime.
In the third quarter Centennial had an 8-7 run to lead by two going into the final period.
St. Anthony then came back with a 14-10 run behind Croy's six points, three-pointers by Griffin Sehy and Koenig and a bucket by Adam Rudaibaugh, for the 40-38 victory.
Croy led with 12 points while Sehy added 10.
Teutopolis was an easy 62-35 winner over Lutheran North.
The Wooden Shoes ripped out to a 25-6 opening quarter lead and led 35-14 at halftime. T-town was led in the opening quarter by Brendan Niebrugge with 12 points as he connected on three trifectas and hit a basket and a free throw.
The two teams played to a 17-17 third quarter before T-town finished out with 10-5 final period.
The Shoes were led by B. Niebrugge with 19 points on seven field goals that included four three-pointers and one of one at the line. Caleb Siemer fniished with 10 points while James Niebrugge and Pruemer had eight each.
In other games at T-town, Newton won over Charleston 55-42 and Lincoln-Way East downed Pleasant Plains 53-43.
St. Anthony will take on Lincoln Way East at noon at Teutopolis today while the Wooden Shoes will meet Newton at 1:30. Effingham will take on Chicago Brooks at 1:30 at EHS.
