Teutopolis claimed its own Class 7-2A girls basketball regional championship Tuesday evening.

The Wooden Shoes defeated Edwards County (Albion), 38-10. The two teams were locked in an 8-8 opening quarter tie before the Shoes held Edwards County scoreless in the second quarter to lead 20-8 at halftime.

T-town then had a 9-0 third period and finished strong.

Kylie Borries scored 13 while Gabby Tegeler added 10 in the win. T-town is now 22-3 on the season and will head to the St. Anthony Sectional Wednesday, December 1. The Shoes will face the winner of the Brownstown/St. Elmo Regional, either Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg or Brownstown/St. Elmo.

Class 2A Brownstown/St. Elmo  Regional

Brownstown/St. Elmo and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg advanced to the championship game with victories Tuesday evening.

BSE won the opener over Altamont, 32-26.

In the second contest, WSS was a 45-18 winner over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.

BSE and WSS will now meet for the regional championship tonight at 6:15.

 

Class 4A Taylorville Regional

Effingham saw its season come to a close in the championship game of the Taylorville Regional Tuesday.

The Mustangs fell to the host squad, 35-17.

Taylorville advances to its own sectional Wednesday, December 1.

 

Class 3A Paris Mayo Regional

Paris Mayo won its own regional by defeating Robinson Nuttall, 28-9.

 

Class 1A Effingham Sacred Heart Regional

Sigel St. Michael will face Oakland Lake Crest tonight at 6 for the championship of the Sacred Heart Regional. The winner advances to the St. Michael Sectional Wednesday, December 1.
