Bulls Clip Nets In Game Three
(Chicago, IL) -- Carlos Boozer scored 22 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as the Bulls took Game Three from the Nets, 79-76. C.J. Watson missed a three pointer as time expired in the fourth quarter that would have tied the game for Brooklyn. Chicago leads the first round series 2-1, with Game Four at the United Center on Saturday. Luol Deng added 21 points and 10 rebounds in the win. Bulls center Joakim Noah says they controlled the game on the defensive end.
Heat Take Commanding 3-0 Lead
The Heat took a commanding 3-0 series lead against the Bucks following their 104-91 Game Three victory. The Clippers failed to go up three games to none after the Grizzlies defeated Los Angeles 94-82 in their series. The Bulls opened up a 2-1 series lead after a 79-76 win over the Nets.
Allen Passes Miller For Most NBA Playoff Three-Pointers
(Milwaukee, WI) -- Heat guard Ray Allen is now the all-time three-point leader in NBA playoff history. The 37-year-old went 5-for-8 from behind the arc in Miami's 104-91 win over Milwaukee in Game Three of their first-round playoff series. Allen has now made 322 three-pointers in postseason play, surpassing the previous mark of 320 by Indiana's Reggie Miller.
Celtics' Rivers Fined 25K For Criticizing Officials
(New York, NY) -- The NBA has fined Celtics head coach Doc Rivers $25,000 for publicly criticizing game officials. Rivers made comments during his post-game press conference following Boston's 87-71 loss to the New York Knicks on Tuesday. The Celtics trail the best-of-seven playoff series 2-0. Boston hosts Game Three tonight.
McDermott Returning To Creighton For Senior Season
(Omaha, NE) -- Forward Doug McDermott is returning to Creighton for his senior season. The All-American had considered early entry to the NBA Draft, but has decided to come back for one final season with the Bluejays. The 6-foot-8 McDermott was the second-leading scorer in the nation, averaging 23.2 points this past season as Creighton went 28-8.
