Dieterich Junior High School hosted a seventh-grade boys basketball tournament Tuesday and came out the champions.

Dieterich claimed a 31-15 victory over Newton St. Thomas in the opener. Dieterich held a 21-5 halftime lead and never looked back.

G. French scored nine while G. Meinhart and L. Brummer tallied eight each.

Newton St. Thomas was led by A. Meinhart with six points.

Olney St. Joseph won the second contest over Newton St. Thomas, 40-18.

St. Joe held a 13-10 halftime lead then had a 16-2 third quarter run.

St. Thomas was led by Q. Fulton with seven

Dieterich claimed the third game over Olney St. Joe, 21-18.

Dieterich led 10-3 at halftime then had to hold off St. Joe who had a 15-11 second half run.

E. Cook led the way with 10 points for the winners.
