Effingham Junior High School handed Robinson Nuttall an eighth-grade girls basketball loss Tuesday, 36-17.

The Mustangs edged out to a 9-6 opening quarter lead but had a 14-2 second period and went on for the win.

Tieffel led the way for Effingham with 22 points.

At St. Anthony

Effingham St. Anthony picked up two wins over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Tuesday.

The Bullpups were 32-16 winners in the seventh-grade contest and improved to 11-9 on the season.

Aubrey Denning scored 12 for the winners while Avery Henning added eight.

CHBC was led by Haley Doty with nine. CHBC dropped to 14-6.

In eighth-grade play, St. Anthony was a 37-20 winner. The Bullpups held a 13-4 opening quarter lead and led 25-8 at halftime.

Mary Hoene tallied 11 while Denning and Lilly Gannaway added eight each for St. Anthony.

CHBC was led by Madison Dawson with six. CHBC dropped to 8-12.

At Pana

Teutopolis improved both seventh- and eighth-grade records by picking up victories over Pana Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes held Pana scoreless in the first three quarters to lead 30-0 in seventh-grade action and finished with a 36-4 win.

Kylie Borries scored 14 for the winners who are now 19-3 on the season.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town was a 45-33 winner. Anna Probst scored 17 points for the Shoes who remain unbeaten at 22-0.
