Effingham St. Anthony and Teutopolis split junior high boys basketball wins Monday evening.

 

The Wooden Shoes picked up a 48-28 victory in the seventh-grade encounter. St. Anthony held an 8-7 opening quarter lead but T-town broke loose with a 21-6 run and finished with a 48-28 win.

Kocher led the way for the Shoes with 12 points while Schumacher, Lustig and Mette scored seven each.

St. Anthony was led by Graiden Wilhour and Miles Waldhoff with eight each.

In the eighth-grade game, St. Anthony came out a 55-40 winner. The Bullpups stepped out to a 19-9 opening quarter lead and had a 26-19 second half.

Aiden Lauritzen tallied 25 for the winners while Coen Pennington added 15.

T-town was led by Joey Probst with 11.

At Robinson

Effingham and Robinson Nuttall were each winners in two matchups Monday evening.

Robinson Nuttall claimed the seventh-grade contest 40-34 in overtime. EJHS dropped to 2-3 on the season.

Carter Braddy led the way for the Mustangs with 21 points.

In the eighth-grade game, Effingham was a 45-34 winner. The Mustangs held Nuttall scoreless in the opening quarter and held a 7-0 lead and led 21-6 at halftime.

James Wise tallied 11 for the winners while Wade Bushur and Cole Phillips added nine each.

At Effingham

Effingham Sacred Heart hosted North Clay (Louisville) and split wins Monday evening.

Sacred Heart was a winner in the seventh-grade game, 43-29.

North Clay captured the eighth-grade contest 54-15 to improve to 7-1.

 

At Strasburg

Stewardson-Strasburg pounded out 64 points in beating Okaw Valley, 64-10 in seventh-grade competition Monday evening.

Stew-Stras led 36-5 at halftime. Noah Pruemer scored 18 for the winners while Koy Morris added 11. Nine other players scored in the contest. Stew-Stras improved to 5-2.

In eighth-grade action, Okaw Valley was a 39-28 winner. Stew-Stras held an 8-4 opening quarter lead but Okaw Valley tied at halftime, 14-14 then moved ahead with a 12-11 third period and had a 13-3 final quarter.

Aiden Sayers finished in double figures for Stew-Stras with 16 points. The squad dropped to 3-4.

At Flora

Flora captured two victories over Jasper County in action Monday evening.

Flora won the seventh-grade contest, 29-18. Flora held a 12-4 halftime lead.

Jasper County was led by Jacob Oldham and Hayden Mulvey with six points each. Jasper County is now 4-1.

In eighth-grade play, Flora captured a 55-43 victory. Flora led  35-18 at halftime.

Leading Jasper County was Dexter Fulton with 16 points. Jasper County dropped to 3-2.
