Stewardson-Strasburg split victories with Pana in junior high girls basketball action Thursday evening.

Stew-Stras won the seventh-grade contest, 39-17. Stew-Stras ran out to a 12-3 opening quarter lead and led 20-5 at halftime.

Kendra Hayes scored 24 points for the winners while Edie Wittenberg chipped in with eight. The team improved to 12-7.

In eighth-grade action, Pana was a 38-21 winner. Pana held a 25-7 opening half lead.

Leading Stew-Stras were Cameron Carey and Mya Friese with six points each. Stew-Stras dropped to 11-8.

Stew-Stras is back in action hosting South Central Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Windsor.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis handed Sigel St. Michael two losses in girls action Thursday.

The Wooden Shoes improved to 15-3 with a 31-27 seventh-grade overtime win. T-town held a 12-11 halftime lead. St. Michael then moved ahead 20-19 going into the final quarter. T-town came back with a 6-5 run to knot the score, sending the contest into overtime. T-town had a 6-2 overtime run for the win.

T-town was led by Kylie Borries and Gabby Tegeler with nine points each. The Sharpshooters were led by Hatton with 18.

In eighth-grade play, T-town claimed a 57-24 victory. The Shoes stepped out to a 22-6 opening quarter lead and never looked back.

Anna Probst scored 22 while Kelsey Niemerg chipped in with 11. The Shoes are unbeaten at 18-0.

The Sharpshooters were led by Ruholl with 22.

At Beecher City

Brownstown/St. Elmo came calling and picked up two wins over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Thursday.

BSE was a 33-15 winner in the seventh-grade matchup. BSE moved ahead 20-7 at halftime and never looked back. BSE was led by D. Haslett with 18 points.

CHBC was led by Haley Doty with 10 as the team dropped to 6-2 in the National Trail Conference, 14-5 overall.

In the eighth-grade game, BSE held CHBC scoreless while taking a 15-0 opening quarter lead and went on for a 34-21 win.

Williams tallied 16 while Booher added nine for the winners.

CHBC was led by Madison Dawson with seven. CHBC drops to 5-3 in the conference, 8-11 overall.
