Grizzlies' Gasol Named Defensive Player of Year

(New York, NY) -- Grizzlies center Marc Gasol is the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year.  He received 30 first-place votes and 212 points to beat out Heat star LeBron James. "King James" received 18 first-place votes and 149 points. Oklahoma City's Serge Ibaka was third with 14 first-place votes and 122 points.

 

Thunder, Pacers, Spurs All Take 2-0 Series Leads

The Thunder, Pacers and Spurs are all up 2-0 in their respective playoff series. The Thunder edged the Rockets, 105-102. The Pacers pounded the Hawks, 113-98. The Spurs sank the Lakers, 102-91.  Tonight, the Heat and Clippers look to take commanding 3-0 leads, while the Nets and Bulls meet in Game Three in Chicago with that series tied at a game apiece. Miami meets the Bucks in Milwaukee and L.A. is in Memphis to battle the Grizzlies.
