BROWNSTOWN -- Three more games were contested in the National Trail Conference Girls Seventh-Grade Basketball Tournament Wednesday.
In the opener Wednesday evening, Sigel St. Michael downed North Clay (Louisville), 39-13. The second game saw Brownstown/St. Elmo beat Effingham Sacred Heart, 40-21.
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg then defeated Altamont, 16-12. WSS took a 10-7 first half lead and led 12-9 going into the final quarter.
Hayes tallied eight and Friese six for the winners. Altamont was led by Higgs with four.
Tonight's games feature Sigel St. Michael against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at 6 p.m. followed by Brownstown/St. Elmo taking on Windsor/Stew-Stras at 7:15, both in winner bracket play.
Friday's games will have North Clay meeting Dieterich at 5:30 p.m. followed by Sacred Heart against Altamont at 7:15, both in consolation bracket action.
The finals are scheduled for Saturday.
