NEWTON -- Teutopolis picked up two victories over Jasper County in girls junior high basketball action Friday.

 

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade contest, 35-15. T-town stepped out to a 14-2 opening quarter lead and had an 11-0 third period.

Gabby Tegeler tallied 13 for the winners who are now 7-0.

Jasper County was led by Herman with six points.

In eighth-grade action, T-town led 30-6 at halftime and scored a 54-11 victory to improve to 7-0.

The Shoes were led by Anna Probst with 12 and Malea Helmink with 10.

Jasper County was led by Miller with eight points.

At Newton

At Louisville

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City handed North Clay (Louisville) two losses in Friday competition.

CHBC ran off to a 38-2 opening quarter lead and that was the contest as the Bobcats won 38-10.

Gabby Wakefield tallied 10 for the winners while Brinley Pope and Haley Doty scored eight each. The Bobcats are now 7-2 on the season, 4-1 in the National Trail Conference.

North Clay was led by L. Ruskin with five.

In eighth-grade competition, CHBC was a 35-27 winner. The two teams were tied at 17-17 at halftime. CHBC then had an 18-10 second half.

Haley Doty tallied 15 and Madison Dawson 11 for the winners who improve to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in the conference.

North Clay was led by Robey with 13.
