NBA Cancels Tuesday Celtics Game After Marathon Tragedy
(Boston, MA) -- The NBA is cancelling the Celtics' game tonight following the Boston Marathon explosions. The team was slated to host the Indiana Pacers at TD Garden, but the league says the game has been called off and will not be made up. The Boston Bruins also had their Monday night game against Ottawa postponed. That game will be made up at a later date.
Mercury Make Griner WNBA's Top Pick
(Bristol, CT) -- Brittney Griner is now a member of the Phoenix Mercury. The 6-foot-8 Baylor center was chosen first overall by Phoenix in the WNBA Draft. Delaware's Elena Delle Donne was taken with the second pick by the Chicago Sky. Notre Dame star point guard Skylar Diggins went third to the Tulsa Shock.
Kentucky's Noel Turning Pro
(Lexington, KY) -- Kentucky freshman forward Nerlens Noel is turning pro. He has decided to leave school after just one year and enter the NBA Draft.
