Lakers Win First Game Without Kobe
(Los Angeles, CA) -- The Lakers moved closer to the playoffs despite not having Kobe Bryant's help. Los Angeles beat the Spurs 91-86 and is now a win or Jazz loss away from a playoff berth. Bryant suffered a torn Achilles injury on Friday and is expected to miss at least six months. The Lakers play the Rockets Wednesday while Utah has two more games.
Sixers' Collins To Resign At End Of Season
(Philadelphia, PA) -- Sixers head coach Doug Collins is not returning next season. Yahoo! Sports reports he has informed management that he will resign at the end of the season. The 62-year-old has one year left on his four-year deal with the Sixers. The Sixers are just 33-47 on the year, good for ninth place in the Eastern Conference.
