UConn Wins NCAA Women's Tournament Title

(New Orleans, LA) -- Breanna Stewart scored 23 points and had nine rebounds to lead UConn in a 93-60 win over Louisville in the national championship game. It's the eighth title for the Huskies, tying Tennessee for most all-time. UConn ends the season at 35-4. Sara Hammond scored 15 points to lead Louisville, which was playing in its first title game.


Louisville Tops Final "USA Today" Top-25 Poll

The national champion Louisville Cardinals are ranked number-one in the final "USA Today" top-25 men's college basketball poll of the season. The Cards knocked off Michigan 82-76 on Monday to win their third national championship. The Wolverines are ranked second, followed by fellow Final Four teams Syracuse and Wichita State.

 

SLU 16th In Final "USA Today" Poll

Saint Louis University ranks 16th in the final "USA Today" top-25 men's basketball poll of the season. The Billikens finished 28-and-7 with a loss to Oregon in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. Louisville received all 31 first-place votes after beating Michigan in Monday's title game.  The Wolverines are second, with Syracuse ranked third.

Knicks Clinch Division, Lakers Take Over West's Eight-Seed

The Knicks beat the Wizards 120-99 last night to clinch the Atlantic Division title. It's the first division crown for New York since 1994. All of the playoff spots in the Eastern Conference have been clinched.  In the West, the Lakers moved into the eighth and final spot by a half-game over the Jazz. Utah has three games remaining, while the Lakers have four.


Jay-Z To Drop Stake In Brooklyn Nets

(Brooklyn, NY) -- Jay-Z may be giving up his stake in the Brooklyn Nets basketball team after starting his own sports management company. Yahoo! Sports reports the entertainment mogul will sell his shares to avoid a conflict of interest when Roc Nation Sports begins to sign NBA players. The Brooklyn-born rapper owns less than one-percent of the team.
