(Denver, CO) -- Multiple reports say Danilo Gallinari most likely tore the ACL in his left knee on Thursday. The injury occurred in the second quarter of the Nuggets' win over the Mavericks. An MRI is expected today. Gallinari is Denver's second-leading scorer at 16.3 points per game. Rutgers Assistant Martelli Resigns
(New Brunswick, NJ) -- Rutgers assistant men's basketball coach Jimmy Martelli is resigning. The move came one day after head coach Mike Rice was fired. Rice was let go after ESPN's "Outside the Lines" aired video of him physically and verbally abusing players in practice. According to ESPN, Martelli was known among the players as "Baby Rice."
Former Auburn Coach Chizik Denies NCAA Violations
(Auburn, AL) -- Former Auburn head football coach Gene Chizik is denying reports of NCAA violations. Former safety Mike McNeil said the school paid cash to some players. The allegations were first reported by former Sports Illustrated correspondent Selena Roberts. A statement from Chizik said her report was long on accusation but short on facts and logic. According to the report, Auburn changed players' grades to secure eligibility, offered money to potential NFL draft picks so they would return for their senior seasons and violated NCAA recruiting rules.
