Effingham St. Anthony and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City split victories in junior high girls basketball action Thursday.

CHBC was a winner in the seventh-grade game, 30-20. CHBC held a 16-8 halftime lead. Haley Doty led the way for the winners with 12 points.

St. Anthony was led by M. Hoene with 18. Hoene tallied six in the opening half then had a 10-point run in the third period.

CHBC improved to 7-7 on the season.

In the eighth-grade game, St. Anthony nabbed a 43-17 victory.

The Bullpups edged out to an 18-11 halftime lead then had a 25-6 second half.

A. Nuxoll scored 19, A. Rios 11 and K. Kabbes 10 for the winners.

CHBC was led by Macee Rodman with six. CHBC dropped to 6-8.

At Beecher City

At Mahomet

Mahomet-Seymour played host to Effingham in eighth-grade action Thursday and sent the Mustangs home with a 30-22 loss.

EJHS took a 7-5 opening quarter lead but trailed 13-11 at halftime and 20-18 going into the final period. Mahomet-Seymour then had a 10-4 run.

Mya Harvey led Effingham with seven points while Sidney Donaldson added six.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis downed Jasper County in both seventh- and eighth-grade action Thursday.

The Shoes won the seventh-grade contest, 41-7 and improved to 13-1 on the season.

O. Kemme scored 10 for the winners while seven others contributed.

Jasper County was led by Meinhart with four.

In the eighth-grade game, T-town claimed a 47-32 victory. C. Probst scored 24 points for the Shoes who improved to 7-6.

Jasper County was led by Martin and O'Dell with 10 each.
