Effingham St. Anthony tallied two victories over South Central in girls seventh- and eighth-grade competition  Monday.

The Bullpups won the seventh-grade contest, 26-23. 

South Central edged out to an 8-6 first half lead and led by a point going into the final period. The Bullpups then ralllied and came back to tie the score, sending the game into overtime. In the overtime period, Trupiano scored three points on a basket and a free throw, while Hoene tallied a basket and the Bullpups claimed the win.

Trupiano finished with nine points while Hoene had eight. South Central was led by Reid with 11.

In the eighth-grade game, St. Anthony took a 15-0 opening quarter lead and never looked back in a 37-9 win.

Nuxoll led the way for the Bullpups with 18 points.

South Central was led by Reid with five.

At Altamont

Teutopolis picked up two wins over Altamont Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade contest 55-12 to improve to 6-1 on the season.

T-town had a 20-2 second quarter to lead 36-12 at halftime. K. Niemerg, A. Probst and M. Helmink scored 12 points each for the winners.

Altamont was led by R. Lurkins with 10.

In eighth-grade play, T-town won 36-19 and evened its record at 3-3.

C. Probst led with 10 points while R. Kemme and M. Ruholl had eight each for the Shoes.

Altamont was led by Klein with 10.
