Effingham St. Anthony tallied a seventh-grade boys basketball victory over Altamont Monday, 53-12.

The Bullpups held a 23-3 opening quarter lead as Brent tallied 12 first quarter points and finished with 18 to lead St. Anthony.

Also in double figures for the Bullpups was Lauritzen with 14.

Altamont was led by Bever with four points.

In the eighth-grade contest, St. Anthony picked up a 43-23 win.

The Bullpups had a 25-16 halftime lead then had an 18-6 third quarter run.

Schmidt led St. Anthony with 18 points.

Altamont was led by Veteto with six.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis claimed three victories over Effingham in junior high action Monday.

Effingham won the seventh-grade B contest, 23-9. Moses led the way for the Mustangs with six points. Derek Schmidt led T-town with six.

In the seventh-grade A contest, T-town took a 20-12 halftime lead and went on for a 42-22 win.

Isaac McWhorter scored 12 and Gavin Addis 10 for the winners. Efifngham was led by Phillips with 13.

In eighth-grade B play, T-town was a 21-6 winner. Leading the Shoes were Cooper Tegeler, Noah Thompson and Andrew Probst with four each. Efifngham was led by Spicer with four.

In the eighth-grade A game, T-town led 18-14 at halftime and went on for a 31-19 victory.

Carter Hoene scored 10 for the Shoes. Effingham was led by Kellams with nine.

Effingham Sacred Heart claimed two wins over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Monday.

The Shamrocks won the seventh-grade encounter, 40-15. Sacred Heart led 20-4 at halftime and had a 20-11 second half.

Traub scored 10 for the winners while Hecht chi  pped in with eight. CHBC was led by Hare with six and fell to 3-11.

In the eighth-grade contest, Sacred Heart led 16-8 at halftime and went on to hold off CHBC for a 23-20 win.

Sparks scored nine for the winners while Wallace had seven.

CHBC was led by AJ Radloff with nine. CHBC dropped to 6-8.
