The Wooden Shoes stepped out to a 12-7 opening quarter lead as Lexie Niebrugge nailed two three-pointers. The Shoes then went on an 18-4 second period run and held a 30-11 halftime lead.

Mahomet-Seymour had an 11-8 third quarter but the Shoes got untracked with a 14-7 final period to put the contest away.

L. Niebrugge scored 18 points on four three-pointers, two regular field goals and two of two at the line. Kaitlyn Schumacher scored 10 points on five field goals and led the Shoes in rebounds with nine.

Kaylee Niebrugge added seven rebounds and two assists.

At Neoga

Neoga tallied another victory, this one over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in non-conference competition Monday, 55-38.

The Indians took an 18-10 opening quarter lead and led 31-20 at halftime. Neoga then had a 13-8 third quarter.

Kylee Phillips led the way for the winners with 21 points on eight field goals that included two three-pointers and three of four at the line. Campbell chipped in with 12 points. Sydney Richards pulled down eight rebounds and had four blocks. Abbi Hatton had four steals and four assists.

Neoga is now 14-3 overall and hosts Altamont Thursday.

CHBC was led in scoring by Carsen Burks with 16 on seven field goals, two of those three-pointers. Gracie Heckert led in rebounds with eight and had three assists. Lani Morrison had five rebounds. Sydney Lorton had two steals and four assists. CHBC drops to 5-8 overall.

Neoga also nabbed the junior varsity contest, 37-20. Worman and Hakman led the winners with nine points each. CHBC was led by Harleigh Bunch with seven.

Altamont claimed a 63-54 win over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Monday evening.

The Hatchets were the ones who ran off to a 21-12 opening quarter lead and led 33-26 at halftime. Altamont then mounted a comeback with a 14-10 third period and outscored the Hatchets 23-11 in the final quarter to claim the victory.

Mikala Nichols led WSS in scoring with 26 points on 13 field goals.

At Brownstown

Brownstown/St. Elmo had a 17-6 final period to pull out a 48-41 victory over Dieterich Monday.

BSE's Olivia Campbell had scored only five points in the first half but came back with a seven point third quarter and led BSE in the final period run with 11 of the 17 points.

Campbell finished with 23 for the winners on nine field goals, three of those from three-point range. Sidney Stine chipped in with nine points.

Dieterich was led by Kaitlyn Boerngen with 14 points and Brooke Locey with 13.

In junior varsity action, Brownstown/St. Elmo claimed a 29-18 victory. J. Ireland led the winners with 16 points. Dieterich was led by M. Esker with five.

At Newton

Newton played host to Mount Carmel and captured a 42-27 non-conference victory Monday evening.

The Eagles took an 18-13 halftime lead then had a 24-14 second half run.

Two players hit double digits for the Eagles. Allison Einhorn scored 15 while Madison Blake chipped in with 10. Whitney Zumbahlen led in rebounds with eight. Amber Russell had five rebounds and Ava Kessler four. Kessler led in assists with four and steals with six. Zumbahlen also had six steals.

Newton has now won three in a row to move to 8-6 and will finish the season Thursday in Little Illini Conference action against Casey-Westfield with a 6:15 p.m. varsity start.

"The girls are playing well as a team," said Newton Coach Brad Harris. "Their unselfish play has them working very well together. They are hitting their stride as the season is winding down."

Mount Carmel edged the Eagles, 39-37 in junior varsity action. Newton was led by Schafer with 12 points. She hit nine of nine free throws. The Eagles JV team ends with a 6-6 record.
