Dieterich Wins at Altamont On Buzzer Beater; Other Friday High School Hoop Scores

Dieterich 52, Altamont 50 (Derek Kuhl's buzzer-beating shot gave the Movin Maroons the two-point win over the homestanding Indians; the contest was close throughout, with Altamont leading 14-11 after one quarter, tied at 30-30 at halftime, and Altamont leading 41-40 after three quarters; Dieterich outscored Altamont 12-9 in the fourth quarter to post the two-point win; Pete Britton was huge for Dieterich with 20 points, 16 in the first half; also for Dieterich:  Bryce Budde with 11, Andrew Lidy with 9, and Kuhl and Jack Westendorf with 6 each; Brennyn Abendroth led Altamont with 16 points and 8 rebounds, Noah Klimpel scored 11, Kaden Eirhart 9, Derick Budde 7, Jared Hammer 5, and Eric Kollman 2; Dieterich made 43% of its shots, 18 of 42, including 7 of 14 threes, hit on 11 of 17 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and turned the ball over 11 times; Altamont shot 38% from the field, 18 of 47, including 4 of 15 threes, made 10 of 12 foul shots, turned the ball over 12 times, and grabbed 29 rebounds; Dieterich improved to 9-3, while Altamont is now 10-4 on the season; Altamont rolled to a 75-27 JV win, with Wyatt Phillips scoring 12 points, and Mason Robinson, Tyler Robbins and Will Schultz scoring 11 points each for Altamont, and Ojas Desai leading Dieterich with 7)

Effingham 45, Lincoln 41 (Effingham led at the end of every quarter but it was close throughout the game. After the 1st quarter it was 16-12, 24-21 at the half, 32-30 after the 3rd, and a 13-11 edge in the 4th quarter provided the four point margin of victory. Another big scoring night for Parker Wolfe as he had 25 points, followed by Garret Wolfe's 8 points. Six points each for Nate Thompson and Jacob Stoneburner finished out the scoring for the Hearts.  Singleton led Lincoln with 15 points.  Lincoln won the JV game 47-38. Donaldson led Effingham in the loss with 9 points.
