EHS Drops Out Of Top 10, Area Teams in Others Receiving Votes Category

Effingham High School dropped out of the Top 10 in the Associated Press high school boys basketball poll this week.

The Hearts were ranked ninth in Class 3A and have since lost only one game by one point to Mahomet-Seymour. They are now in the other votes category with five votes.

Effingham St. Anthony and Altamont are still listed in the others receiving votes in Class 1A. Altamont has five votes and St. Anthony four.

Cumberland and South Central dropped out of the others recieving votes.

Dropping out of the polls were the Neoga and Teutopolis girls. Neoga was ninth in the Class 1A poll but dropped down into the others receiving votes with five.

Teutopolis dropped out of the others receiving votes category in Class 2A.
