Dieterich Wins, T-town Falls In Girls Basketball

Dieterich and Oblong were tied at 7-7 after the opening quarter. Dieterich then went ballistic, outscoring Oblong 18-0 in the second period.
Oblong came back with a 10-5 third quarter but the Maroons were ahead 30-17 going into the final period and played Oblong even.
Kaitlyn Boerngen led Dieterich with 10 points on four field goals that included a three-pointer and a free throw.

At Danville
Teutopolis fell to Danville, 60-56 in non-conference action Tuesday evening.
The Wooden Shoes stepped out to a 19-11 opening quarter lead and led 38-27 at halftime. Lexi Niebrugge tallied nine points in the opening quarter on three trifectas while Kaylee Niebrugge added eight. Katie Kremer took over in the second quarter with six points.
But Danville came back with a 13-10 third quarter to pull within 48-40 and then had a 20-8 final period surge.
Danville's Erin Houpt kept her squad in the contest by scoring seven opening quarter points and all 16 in the second period. She tallied five more in the third quarter and fniished with seven in the final period.
The Shoes couldn't find the range, scoring only four baskets in the final period run and eight in the second half.
Houpt tallied 36 for the winners while Tharija Rosa added 13.
T-town was led by L. Niebrugge with 17 and K. Niebrugge with 13. Isabella Hardiek pulled down eight rebounds, had a steal and two assists.

North Clay (Louisville) claimed a 42-36 National Trail Conference win over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Tuesday.
The Cardinals stepped out to a 16-7 opening quarter lead and led 25-19 at halftime. The two teams played to a 17-17 second half.
Leading Windsor/Stew-Stras was Hannah Hayes with 15 points.
