The NCAA announced Monday that basketball’s National Invitation Tournament (NIT) will be smaller this year and have a new location due to the pandemic.

There will be 16 teams, half the usual 32, and all games will be in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Games are usually played at campuses until the semifinals and championship game at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The NIT was canceled last year due to the pandemic.
