EHS Boys, Neoga Girls Ranked Ninth In AP Polls

The Hearts sport a perfect 9-0 record in Class 3A and rose from 10th place in the last poll to ninth. They have 13 points.

Niles Notre Dame holds the top spot in the 3A poll with eight first place votes. Notre Dame has an 8-1 record and 80 points.

In Class 1A, Effingham St. Anthony, Altamont, South Central and Cumberland all appeared in the others receiving votes category.

Cumberland drew eight votes while Altamont had six, St. Anthony five and South Central four.

Yorkville Christian leads the 1A poll with five first place votes, a 3-0 record and 71 points.

In the Class 1A girls poll, Neoga moved into the poll for the first time. Neoga had a 9-0 record at the time and has 18 points. The Indians fell to Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg in Wednesday evening play for their first loss.

Amboy stands atop the poll, garnering eight first place votes. Amboy has a 7-0 record and 90 points.

Teutopolis was in the others receiving votes category in Class 2A. The Wooden Shoes had two votes.

Leading Class 2A is Riverdale with seven first place votes, a 6-0 record and 88 points.
