Altamont Downs Newton, Girls Roundup

The Indians stepped out to a 19-8 opening quarter lead and led 32-18 at halftime. Grace Nelson led Altamont with 28 points while Brooke Runge scored 13 and Peyton Osteen 10.
Newton was led by Whitney Zumbahlen with 12 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. Amber Russell led in assists with three. Shaley Murray had three steals. The Eagles fall to 4-3 on the season.
"The girls battled the whole game," said Newton Coach Brad Harris. "I am proud of their effort. We could put together a strong three or four minutes at a time. We just need to build on that and put it together for a longer run. These girls will continue to work hard to get there."
The Eagles claimed the junior varsity game, 42-28.

At Flora
Flora played host to Dieterich and claimed a 51-36 non-conference win Saturday.
The Movin' Maroons held an 11-9 opening quarter lead but Flora came back to lead 19-17 at halftime. Dieterich pulled within 36-35 going into the final period as Emily Bloemer and Brooke Locey scored five each. But the Wolves went on a 15-1 final quarter run.
Flora had three players in double figures. Taylor Brown led with 14 while Reagan Henson tallied 11 and Lanie Carder 10.
Dieterich was led by Bloemer with 10.
In junior varsity play, Flora claimed a 40-19 victory. Mallory Meyers led the Wolves with 13 points while Paige Behnke added 11. Dieterich was led by Cortney Brummer with 12.

At Macon
Knocking in six three-pointers, Lexie Niebrugge led Teutopolis to a 58-13 victory over Macon Meridian Saturday.
Niebrugge hit eight field goals, six of those three-pointers, for 22 points. She was the lone Wooden Shoes player in double digits as eight others scored in the game.
T-town held Meridian to a 16-1 opening quarter and led 37-4 at halftime.
The Shoes finshed with 14 steals in the game led by Emily Konkel with four and Niebrugge and Kaitlyn Schumacher with three each. Schumacher had four assists as T-town had a total of 15 assists in the contest.

The Indians jumped out to a 16-6 opening quarter lead and led 28-7 at halftime.
Sydney Richards tallied 17 points for the winners along with pulling down 11 rebounds and having six steals. Kylee Phillips chipped in with 10 points. Haylee Campbell had seven rebounds and three steals.
Neoga is back in action today at Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.
