K of C Free Throw Contest Feb. 21

The 2021 Knights of Columbus Effingham Council 665 Free Throw Contest will be held Sunday, February 21 at St. Anthony Grade School's Goff Gym. (use the East entrance).

Time for the age divisions include:

(All ages as of January 1)

1 p.m. -- 9-year-old

1:30 p.m. -- 10-year-old -- approximate

2 p.m. -- 11-year-old -- approximate

2:30 p.m. -- 12-year-old -- approximate

3 p.m. -- 13-year-old -- approximate

3:30 p.m. -- 14-year-old -- approximate

Competitors are only allowed two guests, only exception is if a family has more than one competitor, other competitor(s) are allowed. Doors will open at 12:50 for 9-year-olds. For other age groups -- doors will open five minutes prior to the start time stated. No more than two age groups will be in the building at one time.

Everyone entering the building will be logged in with a phone number.

Everyone entering the building will have their temperature taken, recorded on the log and shall apply hand sanitizer to their hands with only those whom are considered healthy being allowed to participate. Anyone that has COVID symptoms or is running a temperature will not be allowed into the building. Anyone who accompanied the person exhibiting symptoms will not be allowed into the building for precaution reasons.

All participants must wear masks and practice social distancing while in the building. While shooting, compet itors may remove their mask.

It is requested that a competitor has one of their guests be the primary rebounder for them.

Any Knight(s) who will be rebounding shall wear a mask and will sanitize their hands between competitors. Balls will be sanitized between competitors -- alternating balls during the competition.

There will be no shoot-around or practice prior to competition.

Boys (ages 9-11) and girls (ages 9-14) will use a women's regulation-sized basketball 28.5 inches. Boys (ages 12-14) will use a regulation men's basketball 29.5 inches.
