EHS Boys Claim Two Wins Over Weekend

Effingham High School captured two victories during Friday and Saturday boys basketball competition.

The Hearts won the Friday contest against Apollo Conference opponent Taylorville, 69-52.

EHS stepped out to a 22-10 opening quarter lead and held a 37-16 halftime tally. 

Nathan Thompson and Parker Wolfe were the one-two scoring punch for the Hearts with 26 and 21 points respectively.

In Saturday's contest, Thompson and P. Wolfe were again the two scoring leaders. This time around, P. Wolfe led with 27 while Thompson added 26. P. Wolfe hit three trifectas and was eight of eight at the line. Thompson put in five three-pointers with the bulk of his scoring coming in the second half. He tallied 10 in the third period and 10 in the final quarter.

The Hearts held a 16-9 opening quarter lead and led 25-13 at halftime. The Hearts then had a 20-11 third quarter surge.
