Stewardson-Strasburg and South Central split seventh and eighth-grade boys basketball contests Wednesday.

Stew-Stras claimed the seventh-grade game, 37-21. Stew-Stras led 6-2 after the opening quarter then had a 29-9 run over the next two quarters.

Sayers tallied 13, Wetherell 12 and Beals 10 for the winners who improve to 2-0.

South Central was led by Neilson and G. Shumate with eight each.

In the eighth-grade game, South Central picked up a 34-17 victory. South Central took a 13-0 opening quarter lead and never looked back.

Jones and J. Smith scored eight each for the winners.

Stew-Stras (1-1) was led by Gurgel with 11.
