James Guides Lakers To 121-107 Win Over Spurs

LeBron James celebrated his 36th birthday by guiding the Los Angeles Lakers to a 121-107 victory over the San Antonio Spurs Wednesday.

James led the Lakers with 26 points, eight assists and five rebounds. He added to his NBA record list by becoming the first player in NBA history to score at least 10 points in 1,000 consecutive games.

The Lakers took a 35-27 opening quarter lead and led 63-54 at halftime. Along with James' 26 were Dennis Schroder with 21, Anthony Davis with 20, Wesley Matthews with 18, Kentavious Caldwell with 10 and Montrezl Harrell with 10.

The Spurs' Becky Hammon became the first woman to coach an NBA team when she had to take over in the second quarter after Coach Gregg Popovich was ejected from the contest.

Leading the Spurs were Dejounte Murray with 29, DeMar DeRozan with 23, Patty MIlls with 12 and Lonnie Walker IV with 11.
