Hawks Down Bulls, Dec. 24-27 Schedules

The Atlanta Hawks didn't waste time. Scoring 83 first half points, the Hawks went on to pound the Chicago Bulls, 124-104 in the season-opener Wednesday.

Atlanta stepped out to a 42-29 opening quarter lead, shooting 66% for the half. Trae Young connected on 10 of 12 from the field and was 12 of 14 at the foul line to lead seven players in double figures with 37.

He also finished with six rebounds and seven assists.

Other double figure performers were Lauri Markkanen with 21, Patrick Williams with 16, Cam Reddish with 15, John Collins with 14 and De'Andre Hunter with 11.

Zach LaVnie tallied 22 to lead the Bulls but was in foul trouble with four. Lauri Markkanen chipped in with 21.

Patrick Williams, the 19-year-old, is now the youngest player to start for the Bulls and finished with 16 points. Otto Porter tallied 14 to complete the four scoring in double figures.
