EIU to Face Illinois in WNIT Tournament; EIU Taking Fan Bus

CHARLESTON, Ill. – The Panther women’s basketball team travels to Big Ten member Illinois in the second round of the WNIT Monday, March 25. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. from Assembly Hall.

EIU advanced to the second round by defeating Missouri, 60-58, Wednesday, March 20. The win was the first postseason victory in school history as EIU improved to 20-11 on the year.

The Fighting Illini have a 17-13 overall record and advanced to the second round by defeating Miami (OH), 73-60, Thursday night.

FAN BUS

The Eastern Illinois department of athletics is offering a fan bus to Champaign, Ill., Monday evening for the Panther women’s basketball game against the Fighting Illini in the second round of the WNIT.

The fan bus is free to EIU students and costs $10 for the general public, including season ticket holders and Panther Club members. The price includes the round-trip transportation and one ticket per person.

Only 55 seats are available on the bus and fans are encouraged to contact the EIU Athletic Office at 217-581-2106 to reserve a seat. Students will need to show their Panther Card to gain admittance onto the bus.

The bus departs Charleston at 5 p.m. and will return at the conclusion of the contest.
Tickets will be given to individuals on the bus to gain entrance to the arena.
