Class 1A, 2A Boys Basketball Finals Set

The 1A and 2A high school boys basketball state finals are set.

In 1A semifinal action Friday in Peoria, Madison nipped Lanark Eastland 51-50, while Mason City Illini Central defeated Nokomis 52-38.  Illini Central is coached by former Stewardson-Strasburg Coach John Giesler.

Today, Lanark Eastland will take on Nokomis for third place at 12:15pm, while Madison will play Illini Central for the 1A championship at 2pm.

In 2A semifinal action Friday night, South Holland Seton Academy downed Winnebago 62-37 while Harrisburg defeated St. Joe-Ogden 53-43.

Tonight, Winnebago will play St. Joe-Ogden at 6:30pm for third place, while Seton Academy will take on Harrisburg for the 2A championship at 8:15pm.
