The NBA has moved back the date to reopen its practice facilities to May 8 at the earliest, after media reports said Sunday that it would be May 1.

Lakers Return $4.6 Million Loan

The L.A. Lakers have returned a $4.6 million loan they got under the Paycheck Protection Program, an aid program passed by Congress amid the pandemic that’s intended to help small businesses keep their employees on payroll. Jeffery Hightower Was Alleged Shooter

An attorney for former Tulane basketball player Teshaun Hightower, who was arrested Saturday for murder, says his brother, Jeffery Hightower, fatally shot 24-year-old Devante Long in self-defense to protect Teshaun.

Both brothers are being held without bond in the April 8 killing. Tulane dropped Hightower, who was their leading scorer, after his arrest. Police have reportedly accused Teshuan of being the shooter after he, Jeffery and four other men confronted Long. Another suspect was in a fistfight with Long and police say he called Hightower and the others for help.
