North Clay Season Comes To End; Breese Central To Face T-town

CLASS 7-1A ALTAMONT SECTIONAL

North Clay (Louisville) fell behind 17-9 after the opening quarter and 31-15 at halftime and it was all Nokomis as the Redskins advanced to their third sectional championship game with a 68-26 victory.

Evan Huber was the guiding force for Nokomis. He connected on nine field goals and was six of seven at the line for 27 points. Also in double figures was Devon Wright with 19 points. Wright pulled down 10 rebounds and Huber had eight.

The Cardinals were led by Logan Hilderbrand with 12 points.

Nokomis advances with a 22-9 record to face Oblong at 7:30 p.m. Friday for the Altamont Sectional championship.

CLASS 2A GREENVILLE SECTIONAL

Robinson fell just short in a 56-54 loss to Breese Central. Robinson took off to a 16-8 opening quarter lead.

Breese Central came back with a 14-6 second period run to knot the score at 22-22 at halftime. Robinson then had a 22-18 third period run to lead 44-40 going into the final quarter. But here came Breese Central, outscoring the Maroons 16-10. Robinson had the ball with two seconds remaining in the game but couldn't get a shot off as time ran out.

Kyler Scheer led the way for the winners with 26 points. Robinson was led by Aaron Siler with 36 points, hitting 10 three-pointers.

Breese Central advances to the title contest against Teutopolis at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
