America’s Original March Madness takes center stage during the final days of February and throughout March, as the 2020 IHSA Girls & Boys Basketball State Finals games will air live on statewide television via Quincy Media Inc.’s IHSA TV Network. Fans on the go can also watch the games via their mobile devices on the NFHS Network at www.IHSA.tv.A

“Illinois is the state that invented March Madness, and there are fans all over the state who are passionate about high school basketball,” said IHSA Executive Director Craig Anderson. “We are excited to have Quincy Media Inc. bring our state final games to fans around the state. Nothing beats experiencing March Madness in person, but those who cannot join us in-person are going to enjoy a first-class broadcast experience.”

Over the course of four weekends, 32 high school basketball games will air live on Quincy Media Inc.’s IHSA TV Network, starting with the IHSA Class 1A and 2A Girls Basketball State Finals on Friday and Saturday, February 28-29 from Redbird Arena on the campus of Illinois State University in Normal. The Class 3A & 4A Girls Basketball State Finals follow from Redbird on March 6-7.

The action then shifts to Peoria, where the boys tourney unfolds at Carver Arena inside the Civic Center. The Class 1A & 2A boys finals will be held on March 13-14, with the Class 3A & 4A finals following on March 20-21.

“Quincy Media is proud to produce the 2020 IHSA Basketball Championships on the IHSA Television Network,” said Quincy Media Regional Vice President Jim McKernan. “The partnership between the IHSA, the NFHS Network, and Quincy Media offers additional television coverage to the championships and will allow statewide viewership of the event.”

The telecasts are brought to fans in part by COUNTRY Financial, the presenting sponsor of IHSA broadcasts.

While 2020 marks the first year of Quincy Media Inc. carrying the state title games, many familiar voices will return on the broadcasts. IHSA TV veterans Lee Hall (1A/3A) and Dave Bernhard (2A/4A) will handle the play-by-play call for all four weekends contests. Hall will be joined by WNBA and college basketball analyst Patricia Babcock-McGraw, while IBCA Hall of Famer Mark Lindo returns to work alongside Bernhard. WEEK (Peoria) Sports Director Trish Christakes and WSIL (Carbondale) sports anchor Kendra Sheehan will host the shows, and also bring fans interviews and updates from the sidelines.
