T-town Finishes Third at Class 8-3A State Tourney

TOLONO UNITY -- Teutopolis Junior High School claimed third place at the Class 8-3A State Boys Basketball Tournament at Tolono Unity Junior High School Thursday evening.

The Wooden Shoes won over Monticello, 41-31. T-town stepped out to a 12-6 opening quarter lead. Monticello pulled within 18-15 at halftime. T-town then had 10-4 third quarter run and finished out with a 13-12 final period.

Joey Niebrugge led the way in scoring with 15 while Tyler Pruemer chipped in with nine.

T-town ends the season with a 25-4 record.

There will be a Welcome Home Celebration for the team, managers and cheerleaders Sunday. They will take a fire turck ride through Teutopoils at 12:30 p.m. with the ceremony at Teutopolis Junior HIgh School gymnasium at 1 p.m. Cake and punch will be served in the TJHS Cafeteria following the ceremony.
