BSE Downs CHBC to Win North Clay Regional

The Brownstown/St. Elmo Bombers are the champions of the North Clay Girls 1A Regional Tournament. BSE posted a 42-29 win over the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats to win the regional at Louisville. BSE advances to the Casey-Westfield 1A Sectional Monday night at 6:00 against Hume Shiloh.

BSE broke out on top, leading 8-2 after one quarter, but CHBC surged back in the second period to pull within one, 17-16, at halftime. BSE pulled back up to four after three quarters, 24-20, then outscored the Bobcats 18-9 in the final period to win by 13 points.

Olivia Campbell led the Bombers with 16 points, including three threes. Also for BSE: Claire Wilhour eight, Audrey Wilhour six, Natalie Oberlink six, Baldrige four, and Beall two. 

For CHBC, Gracie Heckert led with 10 points. Also for the Bobcats: Carsen Burks seven, and Jaelyn Robertson, Lani Morrison and Lauren Wojcik four apiece.

CHBC closes out a successful season with a 21-9 record.

The pairings are set for the first round of the Casey-Westfield 1A Regional Monday night. Brownstown/St. Elmo will play Hume Shiloh at 6pm, then Altamont will take on Central A&M at 7:30pm. The Monday winners will play for the sectional championship on Thursday at 7pm. We will broadcast both of the Monday night games on 979XFM and www.979xfm.com
