NBA's James, Antetokounmpo Pick Team Members

NBA All-Star Game captains Lebron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo picked their team members Thursday night from among the other 22 other players taking part in the game next weekend. James selected Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, Luka Doncic and James Harden, and Antetokounmpo took Joel Embiid, Pascal Siakam, Kemba Walker and Trae Young. The captains also divvied up the 14 reserve players, choosing seven each. 

 

Bryant's Memorial Service Feb. 24

Kobe and Gianna Bryant's memorial service will be held at the Staples Center, where the NBA icon played for 20 seasons with the L.A. Lakers, on February 24. According to ABC News, the date signifies the basketball numbers worn by the NBA icon, Number 24, and 13-year-old Gianna, Number 2. 

 

Last Minute NBA Trades

A flurry of last-minute deals marked the final day of the NBA trading season. Some of the day’s big moves: 

• The Miami Heat is getting Andre Iguodala, Jae Crowder and Solomon Hill.

• The Memphis Grizzlies got Justice Winslow, Dion Waiters and Gorgui Dieng.

• The Minnesota Timberwolves got D'Angelo Russell and James Johnson

.• The Cleveland Cavaliers got Andre Drummond.

• The L.A. Clippers got Marcus Morris and Isaiah Thomas.

• The Washington Wizards got Jerome Robinson and Moe Harkless.

 

Wisconsin Erik Helland Resigns

University of Wisconsin men’s basketball strength and conditioning coach Erik Helland has resigned after a university investigation found he used a racial epithet while speaking to a number of student athletes.
