Hearts Boys Lose at Mt. Zion Friday

The Effingham Hearts lost a 50-44 decision at Mt. Zion in Apollo Conference boys basketball action Friday night.
The Hearts took a 17-8 lead by the end of the first quarter, but the Braves responded by outscoring Effingham 22-8 in the second period to grab a 30-25 halftime lead. The Hearts trailed 42-35 after three quarters and posted a 9-8 fourth quarter edge to fall six points short at game's end.
Parker Wolfe led Effingham with 22 points, scoring 11 points each half. Drew Thompson scored 16 points. Nate Thompson and Jacob Stoneburner each scored three points.
With the loss, Effingham is now 14-8 on the season.
